CERTAINTY
Equipped with real-world knowledge of both construction and claims, our MCIOB Qualified Surveyors deliver day-one validation of claim, cause, scope and quantum, otherwise unavailable among the competition. This arms our insurance clients and their customers with complete certainty right at the start of a claim.
Our surveyors are unrivalled experts in scope and cost control, designing the least destructive and most sustainable restoration and repair programmes possible, project managing our expert national contractor network in efficient repairs and driving claims to an early conclusion by tracking key milestones.
INSIGHT
With a hands-on, detailed understanding of individual claims, surveyors keep clients and their customers fully appraised of progress and options available, including accurate cash settlement or, where appropriate, a fully evidenced recommendation for repudiation.
Acumen also provide clients with forensic and comprehensive Management Information via our powerful in-house proprietary claims system, APEX.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Where a claim results in repairs/fulfilment, our surveyors draw on the resources of our national and fully vetted contractor network and closely project manage all works to swift final sign-off, using Acumen’s own scope design for complete cost certainty and leakage prevention.
Our pre-contracted and regularly benchmarked comprehensive schedule of rates means that in general no tender process is necessary in claims under £150,000, saving up to eight weeks cycle time. Where a contractor tender process is deemed necessary, our surveyors are fully able to manage all aspects of contract administration.
CLEAR COMMUNICATION
On complex longer-tail claims, customer communication is as important as cost control and sustainability which is why we more than double the level of communication with customers compared to market standards.
Through a series of pre-booked update calls we make sure customers understand every decision we take and every activity we plan. We are confident that your customer will never be in doubt about what is happening with their claim.

Our story
Acumen Group Chief Executive Officer and Owner Reza Mofidi acquired Acumen Claims in 2010, lighting the touchpaper on the network’s transformation into a UK-wide professional services company led by a team of MCIOB-qualified surveyors.
Reza is a very experienced civil/structural engineer who specialised in subsidence early in his career. In 2004, he launched his first contractor network start-up, Amicable, servicing loss adjusters and insurers in South-East England, Yorkshire and Scotland. In 2007, Amicable was named the most enterprising company with annual turnover of £15m by KPMG.
Acumen Claims is built on a passion for delivering outstanding customer experience with unrivalled cost accuracy and indemnity control. Clients are provided with the full spectrum of accurate claim costs, broken down by each constituent part and, crucially, delivered together in a much-reduced life cycle.
